Flamengo beat Brasília 96-88 on Wednesday night (13), in the fourth game of the NBB quarterfinals. With a consistent performance and a large offensive volume, Mais Querido overcame the Brasília team, tying the series at 2-2 and taking the decision for the spot to the fifth game.

In a tense, playoff-worthy match, Flamengo showed resilience to turn the game around after not being as efficient in the first quarter. With a strong team performance and a defense that knew how to force the opponent's mistakes at crucial moments, the Pride of the Nation mitigated the strength of Brasília, which hasn't reached the semifinals of the competition in a decade. If it depends on Flamengo's strength, the opponent's drought will continue.

Now the teams face each other again at the Nilson Nelson Gymnasium this Friday (15), at 20:30 pm. Whoever wins has a guaranteed place in the next stage of the NBB.

The game

1st bedroom

The game started with Brasília very focused, taking advantage of gaps in Flamengo's defense to build a lead, reaching an eight-point advantage. Flamengo, despite being more aggressive in their shooting attempts, took a while to get into the game. However, the "Mais Querido" (Most Beloved) didn't give up, fought back in the final stretch of the period, and managed to close the quarter tied: 23-23.

2st bedroom

The second period was the turning point. Flamengo came back dominant and went on a 15-0 run, establishing the biggest lead of the game so far. At one point, the Rubro-Negro team had almost double the points of their opponent, and although Brasília tried to come back at the end, Flamengo went into halftime leading the period 26-19 (total score 49-42).

3st bedroom

Upon returning from the locker room, the game was only tentatively balanced. Midway through the quarter, Brasília managed to tie the score at 58-58. During a difficult period, with the temporary absences of Corvalán and Negrete, Flamengo needed quick plays and intense defense to regain control. With vigor, the team widened the gap again and finished the quarter winning 74-69.

4st bedroom

In the final period, the Pride of the Nation left nothing to chance. In the opening minutes, Flamengo reached 80 points, opening up a lead of more than ten. With persistence, the team knew how to use the clock to their advantage, controlling the pace of the game and preventing their opponent from getting too close. Despite Brasília's late pressure, Flamengo secured the victory with a score of 96-88.

The Pride of the Nation returns to the court for all or nothing this Friday (15), to face Brasília, at 20:30 pm, at Ginásio Nilson Nelson, for the fifth game of the NBB quarterfinals.
