With two red-blacks, the U-17 team prepares for the South American Championship

The national team trains in Uberlândia and will compete in the first two stages of the Basketball Development League (LDB)

The Brazilian Men's Under-17 Team, which includes two Flamengo players, began the first phase of preparatory training this Wednesday (July 22.07) for the South American Championship in the category, which will be held between September 14th and 19th in the Argentine city of Resistencia. The team's training sessions are being held from 8am to 9:30am at the Praia Clube Gymnasium in Uberlândia, Minas Gerais.

Forward Tiago Fioravante Zibecchi, 17, and center João Vitor França dos Santos, 16, are part of the team that will also compete in the first two stages of the 5th Basketball Development League (LDB). The first starts this Friday (July 24.07) and runs until August 2, also in Uberlândia. Brazil makes its debut against Esporte Clube Pinheiros (SP), at 16 pm. Next, the national team faces Palmeiras on Saturday (July 25.07), Clube Internacional de Regatas Santos on Sunday (July 26.07), Clube Atlético Paulistano (July 30.07), Unitri/Praia Clube (July 31.07), Campo Mourão (August 1) and UniCEUB/BRB/Brasília (August 02.08). The second stage of the LDB does not yet have a defined date and location.

The South American Under-17 Championship will qualify the top three teams for the Under-18 Copa América in 2016, which guarantees the top four a place in the Under-19 World Championship in 2017.
