The first victory in the NBB has arrived! Flamengo traveled to Campo Mourão, Paraná, and took the first step towards the title of the main national competition. In a tight match, the "Mais Querido" (the most beloved team) won by a score of 89-82 (18-24/21-18/20-24/23-23). Three players were the star players of the match: JP Batista, Marquinhos, and Olivinha.
Number 13, the match's top scorer, spoke about the change in group after winning the first match in NBB 10.
"We definitely have to turn things around. I think this is an extremely important result for us. The current situation is undoubtedly a bit difficult. The group has the experience of being able to come here and enter focused, knowing that Campo Mourão is a very talented team, and they've had a strong start to the season. We were able to overcome all the difficulties and achieve a great positive result," said JP.
The game
The match was evenly matched from start to finish, but the Red-Blacks always maintained the lead and controlled the score. JP Batista dominated the game for all four quarters. By the end of the first half, the center had already racked up an incredible 20 points, establishing himself as one of the match's standout performers.
After halftime, Marquinhos and Olivinha fully engaged in the duel. With accurate shots from the 3-point line, number 11 gradually gained control of the game.
