In the debut of the 2020/2021 NBB season, FlaBasquete had a gala performance and beat Minas 102 to 68, on Tuesday night (10), at Maracanãzinho. The red-black team's top scorer in the match was Marquinhos with 16 points. With a wide superiority throughout the match, Mais Querido knew how to build the advantage and started the competition on the right foot.

The game
The first quarter started evenly, with both teams trading points. Chuzito Gonzáles scored Mais Querido's first three-pointer of the match. With their defense locked in, FlaBasquete forced Minas into mistakes and took advantage to open up a lead. During the quarter, the Minas team improved its attack and converted its points, taking the lead. In the final minutes, FlaBasquete rallied and tied the period: 25-25.

FlaBasquete came back more focused in the second quarter and quickly regained the lead. Hettsheimeir came out on top, helping the Red-Blacks both defensively and in building attacking plays. Marquinhos, with his calibrated hand, converted baskets for Fla and led the game with 13 points. Working well collectively, the Mais Querido (Most Beloved) opened the scoring and ended the period with a 19-point lead: 59-40.

The first two points for the Red-Blacks in the third quarter came from Franco Balbi, who was excellent on the drive. With a significant lead, the Red-Blacks worked their moves smoothly and shot accurately. Minas, on the other hand, wasted their shots, allowing Flamengo to capitalize on the rebounds to counterattack. Hettsheimeir continued to excel and helped dictate Mengão's pace. With great authority, the Red-Blacks finished the quarter with a large lead: 78-47.

In the final period, FlaBasquete maintained its intensity and further extended the significant lead it had built throughout the match. Defensively, Mengão worked the ball well and created space to convert three-pointers with Rafael Mineiro and Yago. On an inspired night, the Mais Querido overcame the Minas Gerais team and won by a wide margin: 102 to 68.

And now?
On Thursday (12), FlaBasquete returns to the court to face Fortaleza BC, at 18 pm, at Maracanãzinho.
