FlaBasquete held, on Tuesday night (2), the first training session on North American soil aiming at the match against Orlando Magic. The team worked in the Barnett Park Rec Center gym, focusing on the physical part and three-point shots.
Training began with the physical training session led by trainer Bruno Nicolaci. A new addition was the presence of Leandrinho Barbosa, who introduced himself to the team in the morning. Taking the opportunity to calibrate their hands, the athletes also did speed and throwing work under the guidance of coach Gustavo De Conti.
After training, Davi Rossetto and Jhonatan Luz commented on the differences between Brazilian basketball and the NBA, as well as talking about their first training session in Orlando.
"Today was more of an adjustment because of the long trip. This made our work on the court a little more difficult, but we managed to start getting used to the three-point line and the ball, as they are different dimensions. We still have two days to work and we're going all out for it," analyzed Jhonatan.
"It's very important to do this type of training to loosen up after the trip, review the plays, and get a feel for the dimensions of the court. The lines are a little different, the court is bigger. So we're already getting used to it, and this contact with the ball allows us to improve our technique. Little by little, we're getting into the swing of things, because we know that things will get stronger now until Friday, which is our big goal," Davi added.
The red-black team faces Magic next Friday (5), at 20 pm (Brasília time), at the Amway Center. The match will be broadcast on SporTV, ESPN and NBA League Pass.
