With a great collective performance, Flamengo defeats União Corinthians in the LDB

By Mariana Sa - inAnother great victory for Flamengo in the Brazilian Interclub Championship – Basketball Development League (LDB). In the second round of the competition, Flamengo hosted União Corinthians and won 80-62. The standout players were Pedro Nunes, Matheusinho, Ruan, Rachel, and Matheus Maciel.
Unlike the opening game, the match against União Corinthians started evenly. With strong plays in the paint and intense defense, Flamengo managed to better adapt its style and took a 21-13 lead in the first quarter.
The second period didn't change much, and Flamengo continued to dominate. Despite their opponents getting good attacks, Flamengo didn't let their lead dwindle much, leading the match to halftime with a score of 39-27.
In the third quarter, União Corinthians managed to get past Flamengo's defense more, closing in on the score. However, Rodrigo Galego called a timeout and managed to set up the defense, which returned to normal. The offense followed suit and delivered: 55-46.
The Rubro-Negro only improved in the final period, widening the gap even further. With excellent performances from Matheusinho, Pedro Nunes, Maciel, and Rachel, Mengo secured another impressive victory and maintained its unbeaten streak in the 2019 LDB (LDB): 80 to 62.
