In its second and final match in the Uruguayan window of Group C of the Champions League Americas, FlaBasquete beat Hebraica Macabi, 78 to 65, on Friday night (19), one day after the victory over Boca Juniors. Once again at Palacio Peñarol, in Montevideo, the team grew in the third quarter and presented a good collective game to achieve the triumph and stay at the top of the group.

The game

Flamengo started the match holding the lead, but with their opponents following closely on the scoreboard until the comeback in the final minutes of the first quarter. With Flamengo's field goal percentage declining, the Uruguayan team opened up a six-point lead. At the start of the second quarter, Flamengo rallied and briefly regained the lead, but the match remained tight, and it was Hebraica who went into halftime with the lead.

Upon returning to the court, Deodato led the way and scored important points, keeping Flamengo alive in the duel. Midway through the third quarter, a beautiful play by Franco Balbi, followed by a three-pointer by Kayo, gave Flamengo its best moment of the match so far, opening up a 48-43 lead – which became 50-43 with a beautiful Balbi assist to Jaú, who finished with a dunk. In the final moments of the quarter, the Argentine also sank a shot from the perimeter to give the Pride of the Nation a 13-point lead: 58-45.

The final ten minutes were marked by the balance of the first quarters, but the advantage built by the Gávea team in the third period was enough to secure the victory.
