With a century-old score, FlaBasquete defeats Caxias do Sul by 105 to 62 at Maracanãzinho

Olivinha and Filipovity led the way with 16 points each. Pride of the Nation returns to the court on Thursday to face União Corinthians.

Back in the NBB competition, FlaBasquete reached its centennial score and beat Caxias do Sul 105-62 on Tuesday night (23), at Maracanãzinho. The highlights of the match were Olivinha and Filipovity, both with 16 points.

Before the ball went up, coach Gustavo De Conti received a commemorative plaque from Guilherme Kroll, VP of Olympic Sports, and Marcelo Vido, manager of Olympic Sports, to commemorate the coach's 500 games with Novo Basquete Brasil.

1st Bedroom
On a rainy night in Rio de Janeiro, the ball was in the air at Maracanãzinho, and the first two points fell to the Flamengo team, with Gui Deodato scoring two free throws. At the start of the second period, the Pride of the Nation maintained its momentum and maintained a comfortable lead. On a quick play, Balbi passed to Cuello for two more on a layup. Next, it was the Argentine point guard's turn to showcase his skill with a subtly driven drive to the basket. On the court, Olivinha grabbed the rebound and passed to Felipe Motta to score from the perimeter. Besides the strong offense, the red-and-black team also excelled on defense, making it extremely difficult for Caxias to shoot. In the final minute, Mengão opened up an even bigger lead and went into halftime comfortably leading 64-31.

With a strong defense, FlaBasquete continued to control the match. Felipe Motta received the ball with some freedom and hit another three-pointer. With a compact defense, the Rubro-Negro forced Caxias to force three-point shots, and the opponent's accuracy was poor. In the final minutes, "God of Race" Olivinha converted a two-pointer, was fouled, and hit the free throw. Absolutely in control of the match, the Pride of the Nation closed the quarter at 86-42.

4st Bedroom
In the final period, Mengão didn't slow down and continued scoring. With a comfortable score, the red-and-black team had the freedom to work on their attacking plays. Maique, with freedom, hit from the perimeter and added three more points to Flamengo's account. With a little over three minutes remaining, the Pride of the Nation reached its centennial. With a large lead, Mengão closed the game with another victory in the NBB: 105-62.

Orgulho da Nação returns to the court next Thursday (25) to face União Corinthians, at 20 pm, at Maracanãzinho.
