The Brazilian national team, comprised of Gegê, Benite, Felício, and Olivinha, will face Uruguay this Monday (the 28th), at 19 p.m. Brasília time, for third place in the South American Championship, held on Margarita Island, Venezuela. The winner of the match will secure the third and final spot for the continent at the 2015 Pan American Games in Toronto. There will also be a red-and-black player on the court in the final: Argentina, with Nicolas Laprovittola in red-and-black, will face Venezuela for the South American title at 21:30 p.m. this Monday.

In Brazil's semifinal match on Sunday (27.07), the National Team fought until the last second but was beaten by Venezuela by just one point, 66 to 65. Flamengo's young pivot Cristiano Felício had a good performance and came close to a double-double, with 12 points and nine rebounds.

"It was a balanced match from start to finish, decided by the details. The team did everything they could, trailed, took the lead, and always sought victory. But it wasn't possible. Kudos also to Venezuela, who managed to win the match. Now it's time to think about Uruguay, which is a strong opponent and also wants a spot in the Pan American Games. I'm very proud to lead this team and these players, and I know we'll get this positive result," praised the team's coach, José Neto.
