With a show from the red-black kids, FlaBasquete beats Cerrado 88-57 in the NBB

By Romulo Paranhos - inTo end the NBB qualifying phase with a flourish, FlaBasquete beat Cerrado 88-57 on Wednesday night (07), at the ASCEB gymnasium, in Brasília. The highlight of the match was Rafael Rachel, with 19 points and 13 rebounds. It is worth noting that coach Gustavo de Conti rotated the team a lot and used many boys from the red-black base, who put on a show on the court.
The game
Flamengo's first points of the first period came from Jhonatan Luz, a three-pointer. Lucas Martinez then took another shot from outside the perimeter and converted another three. The match looked very even, with the Cerrado team defending well. Rafael Rachel, a native of Gávea, entered the court and quickly hit two three-pointers for the Red-Blacks. Mengão finished the quarter leading 18-15.
Marquinhos started the second quarter by converting a three-pointer. Cerrado continued to focus on the game, defending strongly and capitalizing on their attacking opportunities. Another youth player, Gabriel Camargo, started well and scored three more points for Flamengo. With less than two minutes remaining in the quarter, Leo Demetrio hit his first three-pointer of the game. In the final seconds, the red-and-black team capitalized on two consecutive Cerrado errors and increased their lead to 39-28.
FlaBasquete returned for the second half already scoring with Martinez, who scored two, and Leo Demetrio, who made a three-pointer. Jhonatan made a beautiful individual play, drove into the paint, converted the points, and was even fouled. Hettsheimeir also pushed forward, hitting a two-pointer and earning a bonus shot. Coach Gustavinho rotated the team extensively and gave the youth players minutes on the court. Camargo, free-flowing, capitalized on opportunities and made beautiful plays. Rachel was another excellent performer, especially on offensive and defensive rebounds, contributing significantly to the red-and-black team's even bigger lead: 75-49.
In the final quarter, Mengão continued to maintain its rhythm and maintain its significant lead. The red-and-black team put on another strong performance, proving that the red-and-black youth team is coming on strong: 88-57.
