With their spot in the final already secured, Flamengo returns to the court this Wednesday (17/10), in the penultimate round of the second round of the State Basketball Championship. The team faces Botafogo, at 8 pm, at Tijuca Tênis Clube. Admission is free. The Rubro-negro team is seeking its eighth title in the competition.
With two rounds remaining in the tournament, Flamengo remains undefeated in the competition. Last Monday (15.10), the team beat Riachuelo 110 X 59, securing a place in the final.
For the match against Botafogo, the team will not be able to count on center Caio Torres, who is recovering from a ligament injury in his left big toe. He is expected to return to the court on Friday (19/10) against Tijuca. Point guard Kojo, who suffered an abdominal strain and missed the last match, is still being evaluated.
"The team is very focused on its goal, which is the eighth state championship. Therefore, we will play at our best, regardless of whether we have already qualified for the final. Flamengo will always play at its best and go out on the court to win, whether in a friendly or a championship final," said coach José Neto.
