On Thursday afternoon (12/18), Flamengo fans learned about the groups and venues for the 2015 edition of the League of the Americas. The reigning champion, Flabasquete, will play its first matches in Cancún. There are 16 teams representing nine countries, but the dominance ultimately lies between Brazil and Argentina, with three titles each. In the first phase of the competition, Flamengo will play its matches in Mexico, and will face the home team, Pioneros, from Quintana Roo, Malvín (URU) and Leones de Quilpué (CHI), between January 23 and 25, 2015.

The champion of the Liga das Américas automatically qualifies for the Intercontinental Cup, a tournament in which the Red-Blacks also won in 2014, defeating European champions Maccabi Tel-Aviv.
