Mais Querido takes to the court three times over the weekend

Flamengo took to the court three times this weekend in the Basketball Development League (LDB) with its under-22 team. The Rubro-Negro faced Macaé on Friday (July 31.07), Botafogo on Saturday (August 01.08) and São José on Sunday (August 02.08). The boys won one victory, against Alvinegro, and lost the other matches, all held in Uberlândia.
Against the Macaé team, at Praia Clube, in Uberlândia, the team from the coast of Rio de Janeiro defeated Flamengo 84-62. The game's scores were: 29-10, 21-19, 19-19 and 15-14. On Saturday (01.08), Flamengo faced Botafogo, again at Praia Clube. The Rubro-Negro defeated their Rio de Janeiro rival 63-52, deciding the game in the last two quarters. With scores of 12-13, 14-14, 16-11 and 21-14, Flamengo achieved its second victory in the competition. Center Gigante, point guard Pablo and power forward Mingau were the standouts of the match, defending the colors of the Most Beloved.
Rubro-Negro coach Rodrigo Silva commented on the team's explosiveness in the second half of the match. "In the second half, the intensity increased, and we were more relaxed and knew how to better engage their team. We're improving over time, and I hope we continue to improve throughout the competition," commented Rodrigo.
On Sunday (02.08), Mais Querido faced São José, a team that is tied with Flamengo in the overall championship points. With a very close match, the red-black team lost by two points, ending the match 53 to 55. The partial scores of the game were: 13 to 16, 4 to 15, 16 to 10 and 20 to 14.
Flamengo's next game in the competition will be in the second phase of the tournament, with dates and times yet to be announced by the National Basketball League (LNB).
