After finishing the first round of the New Basketball Brazil (NBB) with five consecutive victories - by beating Macaé by thirty points - The Mais Querido basketball team takes to the court next Wednesday (12.01), at 21 pm, to face Bauru, at Tijuca Tênis Clube. The game marks the direct confrontation between the teams, which currently share second place in the competition.

Last round

The Mais Querido faced Macaé in the last round of the first half at home and crushed their opponent 96-66. The red-and-black team's standout was Jerome Meyinsse. "Grandão" scored 17 points and was the game's top scorer.

The Bauru team played against Franca away from home and came out with the victory: 90 to 68. The top scorer of the match was the Bauru representative, Jefferson William, with 30 points.

Novelty

The head-to-head match against Bauru marks the debut of point guard Ronald Ramon, who joined Orgulho da Nação to complete the season's roster. The athlete, already accustomed to playing in the NBB after playing for Limeira – a club now extinct in the championship – didn't hide his excitement about playing for Flamengo.

"I'm really looking forward to playing for my new team. I already know what the Flamengo fans are like and I'm very proud to be here. I was very happy with the reception I received and, as they say, 'I feel at home.' I want to get on the court to play and start pursuing the goal, which is to win," he declared.

Regarding his expectations for the match, the athlete stated that they are the best.

"We know it will be a tough game, as it's a direct clash. We have to go in there to win. Everyone has that mindset, and we'll do everything we can to come out with the win. It will be a great match," he concluded.
