Flamengo had a prominent participation in the 2025 All-Star Game of the New Basketball Brazil (NBB), held at the UniBH Arena in Belo Horizonte, on March 21 and 22. With four representatives in the event, the club saw its athletes shine in the individual tournaments and in the big game on Saturday, with Team Jhonatan, captained by red-and-black winger Jhonatan Luz, winning the title of the competition.

The red-and-black constellation in Minas Gerais featured Jhonatan, who was one of the event's four captains, along with Alexey Borges, Gui Deodato, and Jordan Williams. When forming the teams, Jhonatan assembled the Flamengo "squad," choosing Alexey Borges and Gui Deodato for his team. Jordan Williams played for Team Bennett, A team composed of foreign NBB athletes. Alexey and Gui Deodato also participated in the Skills Tournaments, the Crossover Penalty, and the 3-Point Tournament, respectively.

The program began on Friday (21) with the individual tournaments. In the revamped Crossover Penalty Tournament, Alexey showed great skill and reached the final, finishing as runner-up. In the three-point tournament, Gui Deodato also stood out and secured third place among 16 participants, with 18 points. The dunk tournament, which concluded the first day, did not feature any Flamengo players.

On Saturday (22), attention turned to the big game. In the semifinal, Team Jhonatan, which had the red-black trio, beat Team Bennett, with Jordan Williams, 38 to 31. In the final, Team Jhonatan repeated the dose and beat Team Reynan, made up of the league's young stars, 23 to 20 and secured the trophy for the 2025 edition of the event.

During the final, Olivinha, a FlaBasquete idol and current FlamengoTV commentator, was honored. The God of the Race received a personalized ball and received a standing ovation from the crowd at the UniBH Arena.

Now, the stars of Orgulho da Nação return to Rio de Janeiro with an eye on next Thursday's (27) clash against Vasco, for the NBB.
