Gávea's youth team beats Tijuca and advances to the quarterfinals of the Under-18 Brazil Cup
With the victory over the home team, FlaBasquete maintains its unbeaten run in the tournament

This Wednesday (17), the Crias da Gávea beat Tijuca by a score of 77 to 44 and secured a place in the quarterfinals of the Brazilian Under-18 Basketball Cup. The game, played at home, was marked by the red-black team's delivery against the opponent, which ensured the invincibility of the competition. Matheusinho was the top scorer of the match with 29 points.

The match began with two points from Lucas Aprigio after a good play by Matheusinho. With strong defensive play and quick transitions, FlaBasquete extended their lead and demonstrated their superiority early on. Despite maintaining a lead, the Tijucan team tried to equalize and maintained a steady balance from the fifth minute of the first quarter onward. At the whistle, it was 5-21 for Flamengo.

In the second period, intense red-and-black defense paralyzed Tijuca's attack, leaving the home team without scoring for three minutes, and the Mais Querido (Most Beloved) further expanding its lead. A key player in the rotation, point guard Miguel entered the court and, partnering with Matheusinho, gave the red-and-black attack more dynamism. As halftime sounded, the scoreboard marked a partial victory for the Crias da Gávea, 38-20.
After halftime, the new addition to the court was winger Elias. Point guard Matheusinho returned with a vengeance and dictated the pace for the entire 10 minutes, bringing out the best in his teammates and making Flamengo play even stronger basketball. Flamengo's superiority was evident on the scoreboard at the end of the half: 59-32.
The end of the match was in the best way, just imposing their way of playing and looking to close the classification phase well, FlaBasquete finished with a great triumph by 77 to 44 and advanced to the quarterfinals undefeated.
The Crias da Gávea are awaiting the definition of their opponent for the next stage, which will be held this Thursday (18), at Tijuca Tênis Clube, with the time to be defined.
