Gávea kids debut with victory in the final phase of the 2018 LDB

Matheusinho has a stellar performance with 34 points and guides the Mais Querido to victory against União Corinthians

Flamengo got off to a flying start in the final stages of the Basketball Development League. Facing União Corinthians, the "Mais Querido" took the court this Tuesday and won by a resounding 101-85. The triumph was marked by a stellar performance by point guard Matheusinho, who had 34 points, eight rebounds, seven assists, and eight steals. FlaBasquete's number 3 finished the match with a 43-point efficiency rating, breaking the record for this edition of the tournament.

Led by coach Paulo Chupeta, the Crias da Gávea team performed consistently throughout the 40 minutes, with several players achieving good scores, including centers João Vitor (23 points and 13 reb) and Ruan (12 points and 7 reb), and point guard Camargo (17 points and 4 assists). Tomorrow (28), the Rubro-Negro team will take to the court to face São José Basketball at 11:15 am at the Antônio Prado Jr. gymnasium. With a positive result, Flamengo will be on track to qualify for the 2018 LDB semifinals.
