Flamengo defeats Asbavi-RO and adds the second victory in the CBI Sub-18
Rubro-Negro puts on a show and closes the duel with a 118-29 scoreline
By Rafael Rezende - inIn the second round of the Brazilian Under-18 Interclub Championship, on Tuesday morning, Flamengo had a great collective performance and beat Asbavi-RO, 118x29, at the Tijuca Tênis Clube gym.
With a pressing marking since the first quarter, the team led by Rodrigo Galego did not let the opponent breathe and built the score without any scares.
The coach was very happy with the result:
"Today was a good victory for us, with a large difference in score, because the championship awards first place to whoever has the best average, which is a ratio of points scored to points converted. I managed to rotate all the players well. And everyone came out very intense. What caught my attention positively was that, even building the victory in the first quarter, the team managed to maintain its intensity. And we're already preparing well to face Corinthians tomorrow, a structured team. We'll try to finish first in this group, with three wins... And qualify among the top overall so that, in the quarterfinals, we can go all out in pursuit of the main objective, which is the title.
Matheus Maciel (43 points), João Vittor (15 points), and Matheus Macaé (13 points) were the top scorers. The center, the standout, assessed the victory:
"This was our second game of the week, and the anxiety has already passed. Today, thank God, we managed to perform better than yesterday and came away with the victory."
Rubro-Negro's next match in the competition will be next Wednesday (21), at 16:45 pm, against União Corinthians-RS, also at Tijuca Tênis Clube.
