Continuing the process of forming the FlaBasquete team for the 2017/18 season, the newest addition to the red-and-black squad is Venezuelan point guard David Cubillan. The player arrives after a successful stint as captain of Trotamundos de Carobobo, in Venezuela. 

 

Cubillan is also a player for the Venezuelan national team, and his career includes winning the FIBA ​​Americas Championship, held in Mexico in 2015, and competing in the 2016 Rio Olympics. 

 

A graduate of Marquette University in the United States, the point guard has, in addition to his time with Trotamundos, a track record with the following clubs: Espartanos de Margarita (Venezuela), Soles de Mexicali (Mexico), Maccabi Haifa (Israel), Maccabi Ashdod (Israel), and Guaros de Lara (Venezuela).

In his last season in the Venezuelan League, Cubillan averaged 16,8 points, 6,3 assists, and 3,6 rebounds per game.

 

In his first words wearing the sacred jersey, the player spoke about his playing style. "I'm a player who orchestrates the game well and has a lot of defensive intensity," he said.
