FlaBasquete arrives in São Paulo this Monday (18) to play two friendlies in the Land of Drizzle. In the final stretch of preparation for the NBB, Orgulho da Nação will face Pinheiros and Paulistano in the next few days, Tuesday and Wednesday, respectively, in the opponents' gyms.

The team debuts on Saturday (23), at 16 pm, against São Paulo, at Morumbi. A repeat of last season's finals, the match will be the first of NBB 14. Current champion and owner of seven titles, Mais Querido starts the new year with the challenge of staying on top with a renewed team. Vitor Faverani, Brandon Robinson, Dar Tucker, Túlio da Silva, JP Batista and Fabián Sahdi, in addition to the young Matheus Leoni, Emanuel Mathias and Esteban Caffaro, joined the remaining stars Olivinha, Yago, Rafael Mineiro, Rafael Rachel and Franco Balbi, who is recovering from knee surgery and is expected to return in December. Mexican-American Lucas Martinez will report in the same month.

In the 2021/22 season, FlaBasquete competed in the Integration Tournament, a friendly triangular match in Campina Grande, Paraíba, against Unifacisa and Minas Gerais. Flamengo defeated the Minas Gerais team and was ultimately defeated by the home team. Despite the loss, Flamengo secured the title on points alone. Back in Rio, another trophy was won in the official season opener. In Gávea, the Pride of the Nation secured its sixth consecutive state championship, the 47th in history.

The basketball teams of Clube de Regatas do Flamengo rely on resources from their sponsors – BRB, MOSS, TIM, AmBev, Rede D'or, IRB Brasil RE, CSN, Brasil Plural, EY – via the Federal Incentive Law/Ministry of Sports (IR) and State Incentive Law/State Secretariat of Sports, Leisure and Youth (Seelje) of Rio de Janeiro, in addition to support from the Brazilian Club Committee (CBC).
