Led by point guard Gegê, the Mais Querido under-22 team defeated Suzano by a narrow 71-69 score at the Lineu de Moura Gymnasium in São José dos Campos. The red-and-black team trailed in the first half of the game, but prevailed in the final two quarters and emerged victorious in their Group E debut in the Basketball Development League (LDB).

Gegê was the star of the match, scoring 20 points and adding 10 assists. Diego Marques was another standout for the red-and-blacks, grabbing nine rebounds.

Flamengo returns to the court tomorrow at 20 p.m. against the loser of the São José and Brasília tournament. It's another match to defend the LDB championship title.
