Back at Maracanãzinho, FlaBasquete beats Bauru 89-73 in the NBB

Filipovity once again led the way with 21 points. Gabriel Jaú achieved a double-double with 12 points and 15 rebounds.

Playing again at Maracanãzinho, FlaBasquete made the most of the home advantage and beat Bauru 89-73 on Monday night (27), in the Novo Basquete Brasil (NBB). Hungarian Filipovity, in another great performance, was the highlight of the match with 21 points.

1st Bedroom
The Pride of the Nation's first points came from a Filipovity assist to Maique in the paint. The Hungarian then converted two free throws for Mengão. From the middle of the field, Loku Cuello hit a three-pointer. The game started evenly, with Bauru also taking advantage of their attacking runs to score. Balbi provided a beautiful assist for Gui Deodato, who added two more points. As the clock expired, the São Paulo team scored three points and finished the quarter ahead, 19-16.

2st Bedroom
At the start of the second period, Bauru took the lead, opening up a seven-point lead. Flamengo, meanwhile, made some offensive errors and wasted important points. Gui Deodato, in the dead zone, converted a three-pointer. To level the score, Gabriel Jaú hit two free throws. Mengão turned the game around with Didi, who scored two more inside the paint. Kayo Gonçalves, the night's debutant, quickly showed his calling card by converting a three-pointer. Jaú followed suit and also scored a three-pointer. The Pride of the Nation went into halftime with a 40-37 lead.  

3st Bedroom
In the third quarter, Filipovity received an open shot and hit two more for the Red-Blacks, extending their lead to nine points. The Hungarian, a dominant force in the game, hit two more three-pointers. With just over three minutes remaining in the quarter, the Pride of the Nation had an 18-point lead. Gui Deodato worked well in front of the paint and hit a three-pointer. The Red-Blacks closed the period leading 71-51.

4st Bedroom
Early in the fourth quarter, Gabriel Jaú dunked with style. Dominating the game, the red-and-black team held on to their advantage. Filipovity, the best player on the court, converted another three-pointer. To cap off the night, Loku Cuello received the ball freely and scored another three points for FlaBasquete, who closed out the game with an 89-73 victory.

Next challenge
The Pride of the Nation returns to the court on Saturday (2) to face Franca, at 17 pm, at Maracanãzinho, in another round of the NBB.
