He's staying! Gustavo De Conti will remain at the helm of FlaBasquete in the 2022/23 season. The coach is a fixture in the club's history with the world title won in February, as well as a Champions League of the Americas, two NBB Championships, two Super 8 Cups, and four State Championships. And he wants more.
"Our goals are always the same: to fight for every title. That's what we've been doing for years, reaching the vast majority of finals in every championship we compete in. We achieved our biggest goal last season, which was winning the World Cup for the second time. We made history. Furthermore, we also qualified for another Champions League, and winning it this coming season will be a major goal for the team. We want to compete in the Intercontinental Cup again so we can fight for the third title," said De Conti.

"Gustavinho is a unique coach, and we believe he will shine not only at Flamengo but also with the Brazilian national team. We are confident he will lead Brazil back to the Olympic Games, and we are very proud of our coaching staff. Gustavo, along with Bernardinho, Georgette Vidor, and so many others, is a benchmark as a sports leader. Furthermore, he has Flamengo's DNA, he is the face of Flamengo. He belongs with us," celebrated Flamengo's Vice President of Olympic Sports, Guilherme Kroll.
Four times elected Coach of the Year by the National Basketball League (LNB), Gustavinho arrived at Mais Querido in 2018 and is now starting his fifth season at the helm of the Pride of the Nation.
"It's an honor to have such a long and successful tenure at a club as prestigious as Flamengo. I know the board trusts my work, and I always try to live up to that trust. The coaching staff is top-notch, the structure and facilities are excellent, and all of this makes the job much easier. The pressure for results is constant and immense, and that resonates with me, and it's also a great motivation to always strive for our best," he commented.
The technical committee for the next season continues with assistant coaches Fernando Pereira, Christiano Pereira and Fred Santos, physical trainers Bruno Nicolaci and Vinicius Lima and physiotherapist Ricardo Machado.
