Diego Figueredo arrives at FlaBasquete!
Argentine playmaker reinforces Mais Querido for the Champions League
By Helena Petry - inArgentine Diego Figueredo is the latest addition to FlaBasquete! A native of Córdoba, he arrives at the Mais Querido club for the Champions League Americas. The 6'1", 29-year-old point guard played in Brazilian basketball in 2019, when he played for São José, and is currently playing for La Union de Formosa in the Argentine League.
In his first words as a red-black player, Figueredo spoke about the joy of being part of the Pride of the Nation.
"I'm very happy to be joining Flamengo; it's a huge challenge for me. I'm looking forward to joining the team, adapting, and helping out wherever needed. Expectations for the Champions League are high, and we'll work hard to achieve our goals," he said.
During his time in Brazil during the 2019/20 season, Diego Figueredo averaged 13.1 points, 3 rebounds, 5.5 assists, and 14.1 efficiency. With the NBB registration period now closed, the point guard is reinforcing FlaBasquete in the Champions League. The team has three wins in three matches in the competition and leads Group D. Next week, Mais Querido faces Minas and Instituto Córdoba again in the qualifying round, this time in Argentina.
