FlaBasquete continues to strengthen its roster for the 2026/27 season. After the returns of Yago and Didi Louzada, the Pride of the Nation gains another big name to compete in national and international competitions. Douglas dos Santos, a standout player for São José in the last NBB season, is the newest addition to the red-and-black team.

A native of São Paulo, the 2,03m tall, 105kg power forward arrives at Gávea experiencing the best moment of his career. In the last edition of the NBB, he was one of the key players for São José, averaging 12,2 points, 5,8 rebounds and 2,0 assists per game, numbers that placed him among the top players in his position in the competition.

Wearing the Sacred Mantle, however, goes beyond a new professional challenge. For Douglas, defending Flamengo represents the realization of a dream he's had since childhood.

"I'm very happy to be a part of this club, of this history. It's always been a childhood dream."

Now, that dream gives way to the ambition of fighting for titles wearing the red and black jersey. Known for his intensity, defensive commitment, and physical strength in the paint, Douglas arrives ready to contribute to the team at all times.
