It's a decision! Flamengo and São Paulo face off for the NBB title
At Maracanãzinho, Pride of the Nation seeks seventh title to close out the perfect season
By Helena Petry - inThe last goal of the season! This Saturday (22), FlaBasquete begins the best-of-five series of the NBB finals against São Paulo. In search of the seventh championship, the Pride of the Nation plays at home, at Maracanãzinho, at 16 pm. ESPN, TV Cultura and Dazn broadcast live.
Of the 59 matches played in 2020/21, the "Mais Querido" lost only three. One of them was to the São Paulo team in December. The two teams faced each other again in January in the Super 8 Cup final, with the Red-Black team winning. In the Champions League semifinal in Nicaragua, the "Pride of the Nation" defeated São Paulo again.
With preparations for the NBB's big decision complete, Gustavo De Conti spoke about the final week of training for the season.
"Even if we go all the way to game five, there won't be much room to train now. These are back-to-back matches, which is what we want. It's what we prefer. We've done a general training session on attack, defense, and tactics to become experts on our opponent. Both in attack and defense, and I think we're doing very well," said the coach.
Champion of everything and undefeated in 2021, with 31 consecutive victories, FlaBasquete seeks to close the year with a flourish. To do so, the team needs three wins in the series, which begins on Saturday (22) and continues on Monday (24), at 20 pm, and Thursday (27), at 18:30 pm. If necessary, games 4 and 5 will be held on the 29th and 31st, with no time yet defined.
