The Red-Black Nation has another reason to celebrate! A standout since his first day at Gávea, Franco Balbi has renewed his contract and is entering his fourth season with the Sacred Mantle. Last season, the player suffered a knee injury, underwent surgery, and is recovering.

The athlete has been working hard during the offseason to return to a high level later this year. The point guard's focus is to continue making history with the club.

"The expectation is to return 100% after the injury and help the team win more titles. That's always the goal. We have big challenges ahead, we know the responsibility and we want to validate everything we've achieved so far," commented the number 6.

Nicknamed "The Magician," the Argentine won the hearts of fans right away in 2018. Since then, he's been crowned three-time Rio de Janeiro champion, two-time Super 8 champion, two-time NBB champion, and Champions League champion. A part of the team's extraordinary campaign that enchanted the country and won everything, Balbi's only thought is to keep fighting for more trophies.

"What drives me to renew is the desire to keep fighting for every possible title. I hope to be at the same level as my teammates to help when I return. As for the Nation, I'm speechless. I'm very grateful for this recognition. I can only say thank you! I hope to give my best so that they always feel represented on the court," he concluded.
