In search of its sixth NBB final, Flamengo prepares for a series against Mogi
With a triumph in the quarterfinals, Rubro-Negro remained the only team to reach every semifinal in the history of the competition.

On the road to the eighth semifinal in eight editions of the Novo Basquete Brasil (NBB). After the An impeccable series in which they beat Rio Claro 3-0.Flamengo is now aiming for a best-of-five series against Mogi das Cruzes to secure a spot in the grand final. The four-time NBB CAIXA champion – currently a three-time consecutive champion – also has the advantage of playing the playoffs at home, having finished the regular season in first place – with time to spare. boasting the best defense in the history of this stage of the tournament.
After a day off, to rest and celebrate, it's time to get back to work, with full focus on the next challenge. This Tuesday (26), the athletes have already returned to Gávea and will train in Rio until Thursday (28). On Friday morning (29), the team travels to Mogi and, in the interior of São Paulo, trains at night. The first game of the best-of-five series will be on Saturday (30), at 14:10 pm, with live broadcast on RedeTV! and SporTV.

After the third victory over Rio Claro, coach José Neto celebrated the result and praised his players.
"We have to value the fact that we won such a difficult series, as it would be against any opponent in this playoff, by 3-0. The players showed great determination and ability. Even after being inactive for about 15 days (the period in which the round of 16 took place - Flamengo, leading the qualifying round, went straight to the quarterfinals), we managed to overcome the lack of rhythm and win the series without a single defeat," he praised.
"It makes me very happy when we plan to be in the best possible position in the qualifying phase so that we can decide at home and we manage to win with the support of the fans. This confirms what we planned. Now it's time to focus on the next opponent, who comes with a lot of confidence. We have to focus on what we know how to do and seek another final," concluded the coach.

In the last game, once again, the quality of the Flamengo squad was proven: the players who came off the bench scored 62 of the 93 points in the victory over Rio Claro. "The whole team deserves congratulations for their fight, for their determination; our team worked hard for this result. We have a week of preparation and we're going to train a lot," said power forward Olivinha.
