In search of the third Super 8 Cup, FlaBasquete faces Paulistano for a place in the semi-finals

The Super 8 Cup is about to begin! And the competition's biggest winner and reigning champion will be aiming for their third title. This Saturday, FlaBasquete faces Paulistano in the first stage of the tournament, the quarterfinals. The match takes place at Maracanãzinho at 16 p.m., and tickets are already on sale for a special price: R$10 (full price) and R$5 (half price). Featuring the top eight teams from the first round of the NBB qualifying phase, the Super 8 is a short-term tournament where teams face each other in a crossover system (1st vs. 8th, 2nd vs. 7th, and so on). The Mais Querido is currently second in the LNB tournament, with 14 wins in 16 matches, and has home court advantage until the semifinals, should they qualify. If they reach the final, FlaBasquete will have the advantage of facing any team except Franca, the first-place team in the standings.

In addition to Flamengo, Paulistano (SP) and Franca (SP), the Super 8 Cup also includes Caxias do Sul (RS), São Paulo (SP), Bauru (SP), Unifacisa (PB) and Minas (MG). If they win this Saturday, Rubro-Negro will play again on Tuesday (18), at 8 pm, against the winner of the duel between the Minas Gerais club and the Paraíba team. Current champion, FlaBasquete won the last edition of the Super 20 in January 2021, in addition to having won the title of the first Cup in 2018.
