In the Uruguayan window of Group C of the BCLA, FlaBasquete achieved a very important victory against Boca Juniors by 65 to 62, on Thursday night (18), at Palacio Peñarol, in Montevideo. With 19 points, Gabriel Jaú was the top scorer of the match. Orgulho da Nação will face Hebraica Macabi tomorrow (19), at the same time, in search of the leadership of its group.

1st Bedroom
Mengão's first two points of the match came from Gabriel Jaú. The start of the game was fairly even. As the quarter progressed, Boca opened up a slight lead, but in the final stretch, the Red-Blacks fought back, came back, and opened up a four-point lead at the end of the game with a beautiful dunk by Gui Deodato: 17-13.

2st Bedroom
The second quarter began much the same way the first ended: Gui Deodato scored two points on a free throw. Kayo Gonçalves hit a three-pointer on the court at a crucial moment, when the game was tightly tied. Gui Deodato followed suit, also hitting a shot from the perimeter. The match remained very even, and the red-and-black advantage was minimal. Until the final seconds, the Pride of the Nation took the lead again and went into halftime with a 36-28 lead.   

3st Bedroom
Returning to the third quarter, the match remained even, but the Mais Querido (Team of the Nation) maintained the lead. Scott Machado swayed past the defense and hit a two-pointer just after 24 seconds. The Pride of the Nation continued to win: 51-46.

4st Bedroom
At the start of the fourth quarter, Argentina rallied and took the lead. This made the game more exciting, as every point was crucial. Gabriel Jaú made a good play in the paint and used the backboard to score two more. On an individual play, Balbi penetrated the paint, scored two more, and tied the game. Jaú grabbed an offensive rebound and also scored. The game remained even in the final seconds. Until, on four free throws, Balbi hit three, decisive in Mengão's 65-62 victory. 

With this result, if Orgulho da Nação beats Hebraica, they will take the lead in Group C.

The Pride of the Nation returns to the court this Friday (19) to face Hebraica Macabi, at 19:10 pm, at Palacio Peñarol, in another round of the BCLA.
