Flamengo faced Boca Juniors (ARG) in the Champions League of the Americas (BCLA) on Friday night (15) and was defeated. At the Maracanãzinho Gymnasium, in a duel valid for the second round of the competition, Rubro-Negro suffered a defeat by a score of 80 to 62. 

The game started off quite close, but the Argentines capitalized on their attacks and scored the first baskets. The Xeneize team opened up a five-point lead, but Flamengo didn't give up, and with a beautiful sequence of three three-pointers from Didi, they turned the score around and reached a seven-point margin. With his good three-point shooting ability, Gui Deodato helped the Rubro-Negro control the match and finish the first quarter with a 22-19 lead.

In the second quarter, Mengão grew thanks to Franco Balbi, who excelled with three-pointers and assists, and Maique, who excelled in free throws. Boca managed to knock down some good shots through Marcos Mata and Sebastian Vega, narrowing the lead before halftime, closing the period at 40-38 and remaining firmly in the contest. 

After halftime, Boca Juniors came out swinging, converted a three-pointer, and took the lead. The clock ran for nearly two minutes without a point, but Flamengo responded with a Didi shot and took the lead again. The point guard then made two free throws to extend their lead. But the Xeneizes kept pushing and turned the game around, closing the period at 56-50.

Early in the fourth quarter, Boca Juniors opened up a 13-point lead and began to control the result. Flamengo fought back, but the Xeneize defense managed to neutralize the plays, and the score closed at 80-62 for the Argentine team. 

Now, Fla Basquete turns the key to the NBB. The team returns to the court for the Novo Basquete Brasil next Thursday (21), against Fortaleza, at Maracanãzinho, at 21 pm.
