Flamengo and Bauru will have a truly special venue for Games 2 and 3 of the NBB CAIXA best-of-five final series. Arena Carioca 2, which will host the judo, Greco-Roman wrestling, freestyle wrestling, and Paralympic boccia events at the 2016 Olympic and Paralympic Games, is in the final stages of setup for the final of the national basketball championship. In addition to the second and third matches, on the 26th and 28th, the court will also host training sessions for the finalist teams on May 24th, 25th, and 27th.

After Game 1, last Saturday (21), winger Marquinhos pointed out the confidence and focus of the red-black team as the main reasons for the triumph in the opening of the series, in Marília-SP.
"We played well throughout. We were confident throughout the match, and even when we were behind, we didn't slow down. We had a great moment at the beginning of the fourth quarter and controlled the game after that," he analyzed.
Unity is strength - once again
Another factor that was crucial to the victory—and to the excellent campaign in NBB 8—was the collective strength of José Neto's team. Four players reached double figures in scoring: top scorer Olivinha, with 16 points, Ronald Ramon (15), JP Batista (13), and Marcelinho (11). The latter two were voted for Best Sixth Man of this NBB by coaches, assistants, and captains of the 15 teams that competed in the championship, as well as the specialized press, Brazilian basketball personalities, commissioners, and referees. Marcelinho, the most successful player in the tournament's history and averaging 11,5 points per game this season, is competing for the award alongside Jimmy (Mogi) and Humberto (Pinheiros).
The victory in Game 1 against Bauru did not come in the last seconds, as happened in the games against Mogi, but it was only decided in the final quarter, after three extremely even periods between the two teams. With ten minutes remaining, the Pride of the Nation scored 13 consecutive points, without conceding a single basket, and opened up a lead that held until the end, securing the red-and-black team's 15th victory in 18 away games in this NBB.
