Closing the Rio de Janeiro stage, Flamengo wins victory over União Corinthians in the LDB
The Crias da Gávea end the Rio de Janeiro stage with four wins in five games
By Victor Cachoeira - inFlamengo finished the first stage of the Basketball Development League in the best possible way: with a victory. Facing União Corinthians of Rio Grande do Sul, the Crias da Gávea team closed the scoring 77-59 and secured their fourth victory in five tournament games. In a magnificent performance, Matheusinho led all scorers with 21 points. Completing his exceptional performance, the point guard grabbed ten rebounds and dished out eight assists.

"The team is improving a lot. With each game that passes, we're getting more in tune, and João Vitor stands out, as he's doing very well with rebounds. We're all looking to give something extra, to contribute on the court. When we lost to Paulistano, we talked and realized we needed to give even more. And so we'll continue to Curitiba, trying to maintain this performance," said the number 3.
Ruan, with 19 points and 12 rebounds, and João Vitor, with 12 points and 15 rebounds, dominated the paint and were also highlights in the game. Flamengo now heads to Curitiba, where they will play another stage valid for the first phase of the LDB, with the presence of São José, Franca, Curitiba, Maringá and Praia Clube. The Crias da Gávea debut next Sunday (16), at 14:30 pm, against the Joséense team.
