FlaBasquete remains undefeated at home in this edition of the Novo Basquete Brasil (NBB)! On Thursday night (29), the team entered the court to face Brasília, at Maracanãzinho, and, with a great defensive performance, held the opponent and won 72 to 50. With the result, the Pride of the Nation remains in second place.

The game

The match started evenly, with both teams scoring back and forth. In the final moments of the period, Brasília opened up a small lead and finished ahead (16-21). Even trailing, the red-and-black team relied on a strong performance from Penka Aguirre, who scored 10 points and grabbed two rebounds. In the second quarter, the Mais Querido (Mais Querido) rallied and took the lead, relying on good perimeter shooting from Hettsheimeir, Rachel, Jaú, and Deodato (35-32), just over two minutes before halftime. As the clock rang, the scoreboard showed Flamengo's 10-point lead: 45-35.

Upon returning to the court, the teams took their time scoring in the third quarter: the first basket came just six minutes in, with the opponent's goal. The period was evenly matched, with the Red-Blacks maintaining virtually the same lead: 55-46. In the final quarter, Mengão began the action with a 7-0 lead. The lead soon extended to 12-2, and Gustavo De Conti's men had no trouble securing the victory.
