At the Ángel Sandrin gymnasium, the Rubro-Negro defeated Instituto 83-75, taking a big step forward in the competition. Franco Balbi (21 points), Marquinhos (17 points), and Rafael Mineiro (17 points and 8 rebounds) were the standout performers in the triumph.

Undaunted, Flamengo started out attacking. With inspired Rafael Mineiro and Zach Graham, and a solid defense, Gustavo De Conti's team controlled every move, asserting itself by dominating the attack as well, and winning the first quarter by 11 points: 25 to 14.
In the second period, the match became more even. Instituto fought back, and Marquinhos responded on several occasions. Léo Demetrio replaced Olivinha and also contributed a few points in the paint, but in the end, the Argentine team closed the gap to two points. Even so, the Pride of the Nation went into halftime leading 37-35.
The third quarter was essentially split into two five-minute halves. The opposition pressed forward, trying to take the lead, but were met with a brilliant Franco Balbi, as usual. The number 6 hit two three-pointers and provided a cushion. When the score got tight, Marquinhos took responsibility and broke the deadlock with a beautiful basket as the clock expired: 59-53.
Down the stretch, the teams traded points constantly. Balbi and Marquinhos continued to make the difference, Deryk crucially restructured the defense, and Mengão showed a composure to close out the game. With just under two minutes remaining, the magician showed off his full potential, taking two shots from the three-point line and converting. On the final play, Olivinha hit a layup to seal the win: 83-75.
