Flamengo and Londrina faced off against each other on Friday night in the fourth round of the Novo Basquete Brasil tournament. Both teams alternated in the lead throughout the match. Flamengo started better, but the home team fought back, and the result ultimately favored the home team. In a tight game until the end, which went into overtime, Londrina won 87-84. For the team from Gávea, Marcelinho led the way, while for the home team, former Flamengo player Fernando Mineiro was the star of the show, deciding the match in favor of the team from Paraná.

But in the second quarter, the reigning two-time national champions proved their mettle, opening up a small lead, and ending the first 20 minutes of play with a 33-28 lead, with individual highlights from center Coloneze, who dominated the paint and finished with 14 points.

After halftime, a personal duel began between Fernando Mineiro and Marcelinho Machado. The Londrina winger led the home team's comeback, while the Flamengo captain tried to keep Flamengo in the game. Mineiro, who, until the start of this season, was Marcelinho's backup for the Gávea team, fared better. The result at the end of the third period was 54-52 for the visitors.

In the final period, however, it was Marcelinho and company's turn to shine. With the number four scoring 25 points, the red-and-blacks fought back and managed to tie the game at 74-74, sending the game into overtime. But Fernando Mineiro stole the show again in overtime. The forward, who finished as the top scorer with 28 points, quickly led his team to a three-point lead in overtime and remained in the lead. In the end, it was 87-84 for Londrina.

This was the second consecutive loss for Flamengo, the reigning champion of the Novo Basquete Brasil (New Basketball Brazil) competition in the 2009/2010 edition. Now, in four matches, Mengão has two wins and two losses. In the next round, the team faces São José, away from home, on the 27th. In December, the red-and-blacks begin their journey in the Liga das Américas.
