Playing very well, Flamengo entered the court on Monday night (16) and beat the São José team by 103 to 83, at the Tijuca Tênis Clube gym, in a match valid for the 13th round of NBB 12. Marquinhos was the red-black team's top scorer of the match with 20 points.

The game
At the start of the first quarter, São José took the lead, but the red-and-black team quickly came back. Marquinhos and Zach Graham, with two three-pointers, put the Mais Querido (Most Beloved) in the lead. The Pride of the Nation began to press harder and shut down the opponent's plays. When they did attack, Mengão patiently chose the best plays, which resulted in baskets. The first quarter ended 23-18 for the Red-and-Black team.

In the second quarter, São José came back stronger and even turned the score around. Zach Graham took control of the game and, with a three-pointer, put Mengão back in front. Léo Demétrio came out on top, helping the red-and-black team both offensively with three-pointers and defensive rebounds, contributing to the Mais Querido's 49-38 victory.

The result solidified in the third quarter, where the red-and-black team knew how to lock in their defense, giving São José no chance. With a comfortable lead, the Pride of the Nation moved the ball around on offense and chose the best plays to score. Marquinhos, with his calibrated hand, was one of the red-and-black team's standouts in the fourth quarter, which ended 79-58 for the Red-and-Black team.

In the final period, Mengão managed the result well and gave São José no chance to mount a comeback. FlaBasquete never slowed down, either defensively or offensively. Dominant throughout, the Mais Querido closed the match with a 100-point lead: 103-83.

In the next NBB 12 match, the Pride of the Nation faces Corinthians away from home. The duel between Rio de Janeiro and São Paulo takes place on Saturday (28), at 12:50 pm, at the Wlamir Marques gym, in São Paulo.
