Another round with 100% success for Flamengo in the State Basketball Championship. Last Saturday (05), the Under-13 and Under-14 teams took to the court to face Clube Central, from Niterói. Playing away from home, the performance could not have been better: two wins for the Most Beloved.

The Under-13 team, coached by Nelson Mourão, played a good collective game and dominated from start to finish, ending the match with a score of 44-14. With this positive result, the Flamengo youth team secured their second consecutive victory in the competition, finishing the first round of the championship in fifth place.

In the Under-14 category, the unbeaten streak was maintained. In a complicated and close game during the 40 minutes, Rubro-Negro beat Central 48x45. With the victory, Flamengo continued its sequence of three wins in three games and made the Niteroi team suffer its first defeat of the tournament. Following the good form, the team led by coach Ígor Meletti is preparing to face Tijuca Tênis Clube next Wednesday (09). The match, with the opponent as the home team, will be held at 18:30 pm and closes the first round of the State Championship in the category.

The basketball teams of Clube de Regatas do Flamengo rely on resources from their sponsors – thinkseg, Estácio, AmBev, Rede D'or, IRB Brasil RE, CSN, Brasil Plural, EY – via the Federal Incentive Law/Ministry of Sports (IR) and the State Incentive Law/State Secretariat of Sports, Leisure and Youth (Seelje) of Rio de Janeiro, in addition to support from the Brazilian Committee of Clubs (CBC) resulting from the decentralization of resources originating from the Pelé Law.
