"We built this victory. The good results we're having, like in Ceará and Bahia, are thanks to the players who understood the plan and applied what we're doing in training better. We're starting the games well," praised José Neto, pleased with the team's growing cohesion, which has gained new faces this season.
Collective strength
Jerome Meyinsse, who led the way with 17 points, also reached double-digit points with Marquinhos (15), Jason Robinson (14), JP Batista (13), and Marcelinho Machado (13). Coming off the bench, young Mingau contributed eight more points, a personal best in the NBB. With the victory, driven by a strong collective performance, Flamengo secured its third consecutive victory and remains in third place in the standings.
Return of Olivinha
The power forward, who holds the record for rebounds in the history of the NBB, who recovered from an injury and had been away from the court for almost a month, returned to action. Olivinha celebrated his return and shared how he received the news.
"I arrived here on the court and was surprised by Rafael Mineiro's condition (he was feeling unwell and had a fever), but it was good. I knew he was fit to play even if it was just five minutes, I even played a little more than that (the athlete played for 11 minutes). Now we're going to work for this Thursday's game," said Olivinha, referring to the match against Pinheiros, again in Gávea, at 20 pm.
