Flamengo basketball team welcomes Bernardinho
Men's volleyball team coach attends Rubro-Negro training session
By Communication - Official Club Website - inThe red-and-black basketball team received a more than special visit during its training session on Monday morning (13.10). In preparation for its next friendly in the United States, the Pride of the Nation was closely accompanied by the coach of the Brazilian volleyball team, Bernardinho.
"I've been in the United States for a few days, resting a bit with my family before the resumption of training with the national team, and I learned that Flamengo would be training here. I've been following Neto since the beginning of his career, when he was still coaching Brazil's youth teams. I've watched the red-and-black team's progress in sports, especially basketball, especially with the recent Intercontinental Cup victory. It's really cool to be here watching Flamengo immerse itself in this global phenomenon that is the NBA. Seeing a highly motivated, young group, and with great champions like Marcelinho, or Herrmann, who has an Olympics under his belt, is great. For those of us who live for sports, seeing the seriousness of this project, being able to be here with them on the eve of an important game, is exciting," said Brazil's volleyball coach.
Neto, the Flamengo coach, made clear his admiration for Bernardinho. "Flamengo is currently experiencing an important moment for the team. After winning the Intercontinental Cup and participating in these friendlies, we received another gift: having Bernardinho accompanying us in training. The fact that he is one of the most successful coaches in the history of the sport, the way he works, and the fact that he is a great people manager make it a huge honor to have him here with us," he said.
The world champions will take to the court again next Wednesday (15.10), at the Amway Center, against the Orlando Magic, at 20pm.
