Children's team wins third place in international tournament

Flamengo's youth basketball team won its third victory in the 15th South American Basketball Meeting, which is being played in Novo Hamburgo (RS). On Friday night (22.07), the team defeated Unidade de Vizinhança, from Brasília, by 48 x 25.
In Group B of the Championship, Flamengo has already played five matches, winning three and losing two. The Rubro-negro's debut took place on Tuesday night (19.07), with a victory over Praia Clube Uberlândia (64 x 47). The team returned to the court on the same day and ended up defeated, in the last seconds of the game, by Nosso Clube, from São Paulo (41 x 39). The second round, with two more games, was played on Wednesday (21.07): Flamengo achieved a good victory over Club Athlético Cidade Nueva, from Paraguay (60x53) and was defeated by Sesi, from Rio Grande do Sul (49 to 44).
The tournament features 19 teams, including Argentina's Naútico Hacoaj Club and Paraguay's Athlético Cidade Nueva Club. In addition to Flamengo, Rio de Janeiro is being represented by Fluminense and Clube Municipal.
