Flamengo continues its winning streak in the Basketball Development League. On Friday afternoon (June 28.06), the "Mais Querido" defeated Vitória 81-58 in São Sebastião do Paraíso, Minas Gerais, achieving its fourth victory in the competition. With a 100% record, Paulo Chupeta's team leads the LDB qualifying round. With 20 points, Flamengo point guard Alef was the top scorer in the match against the Bahian team.
"Their team was losing, and since our team is very young, we started a little relaxed. Because of that, the game was boring at the beginning, but then we focused and managed to open up a 38-point lead. I put all the boys on the court to rest some starters, because tomorrow we have a game against Paulistano, which is a tough team, and I want all my players fit," explained Paulo Chupeta, Flamengo's coach.
As the red-black coach said, Mais Querido returns to the court this Saturday (29.06), also in São Sebastião do Paraíso, to face Paulistano. The match is scheduled to start at 9 am.
