In the final stretch of preparation for the LDB (Basketball Development League), Flamengo's under-22 team will play two friendlies against college teams from the United States (NCAA), at the Hélio Maurício gymnasium, in Gávea. On Friday (August 10.08), the team will face the University of Utah, at 19 pm, and, on August 13.08, they will play against the University of Kansas, at the same time.

Flamengo is seeking its second LDB championship, a tournament equivalent to the Brazilian Championship in this category. Led by coach Paulo Chupeta, the team won the inaugural edition of the championship, held in 2011.

Rubro-negro is in Group D, which includes Vitória/ES, Vitória/BA, Tijuca, and Joinville. The debut date has not yet been set.
