The youth basketball teams of the red-and-black team take to the court this Saturday (13.08) for the State Championship. The youth team (under-13) and the children's team (under-15) play against Clube Central, at 11 am and 12:30 pm, respectively, at the Hélio Maurício Gymnasium, in Gávea. The children's team (under-17) goes to Queimados to face Iguaçu, at 12 pm.

In this week's State Championship round, the youth team defeated Botafogo 61-51 in a closely contested match last Monday (August 08.08). The red-and-black team's top scorer was Daniel Lorio with 18 points. The under-14 and youth (under-19) teams also beat the Alvinegro. In the first round, Flamengo won 68-53, with a great performance by Douglas Rodrigues, the game's top scorer with 41 points. In the youth tournament, the red-and-black team defeated their opponents 58-40, with Gabriel Andrade scoring 16 points. Both games were played last Wednesday (August 10.08).
