The Mais Querido youth basketball team continues its preparations for the second round of the State Championship. After a few days off, the red-and-black teams return to training at full strength, aiming for their upcoming matches.

 

Marcos Beegu, youth coach, spoke about the teams' training routine and the return of the championship.

 

"After a week off, we're back in training for the second round of the State Championship. We're coming off a good win over the Municipal Championship. Even without technical training, our athletes kept up their physical training," said Beegu.

 

"The second half will be very competitive, we will face Vasco, Fluminense, Tijuca and Botafogo, who I believe are the strongest in the competition and who we will also face in the playoffs," added the coach.

 

Paulo Chupeta, coordinator of the basketball youth teams, commented on the preparations and plans for the continuation of the competition.

 

"The teams are preparing in different locations, focusing on the playoffs in a comfortable position to decide at home. The goal is to finish in first place," concluded Chupeta.

 

The red-and-black youth academy is coming off a strong showing at the Pindamonhangaba Tournament, where they finished second. Coach Beegu's team returns to the court against Tijuca Tênis Clube on August 18th at the Hélio Maurício gymnasium in Gávea.
