Flamengo's U-13 and U-12 teams are ready for another challenge in the 2018 season. This Tuesday (03), the Mais Querido debuts in the 4th Franca Basketball Tournament, in São Paulo. Led by Paulo Chupeta, the red-blacks face the teams of CHUI Esportes and ASPA/FREAC/FRANCAL in the first round. 

“This is the second year in a row that we will participate, firstly for the experience and secondly to evaluate our work, what needs to be done and what level we are at,” commented the coach.

The competition, which features national and international teams, is in the Under-13 category, but with the aim of giving rhythm to the younger players, Mais Querido decided to also register the Under-12 group in the competition.

"We're taking two teams this year to evaluate our youth development. We'll face strong teams like Pinheiros, Paulistano, and teams from Venezuela and Argentina, Minas Gerais, and Rio Grande do Sul. They're strong teams that work well at the youth level. The main goal is to conduct an exchange program to see where we need to improve," said Chupeta. 

The championship is divided into two groups, where the best-ranked teams advance to the final, played next Saturday (07).
