FlaBasquete will be looking for its 48th state title, the 17th in a row, this Sunday (2), at Maracanãzinho. The competition, which was to be played during this last week, was postponed due to heavy rains in the State of Rio de Janeiro and will be played in a triangular format, with Municipal and Niterói completing the participating teams.

Mengão's two matches will be played in a doubleheader format. First, the U-23 Crias da Gávea team faces Niterói at 18 p.m. Then, at 20 p.m., the team will go at full strength to face Municipal and seek the title. The Mais Querido's two opponents already faced each other last Tuesday, with Municipal winning.

Coach Gustavo De Conti leads the Pride of the Nation in the competition and has a full roster. Point guards Penka Aguirre and Jose Vildoza, shooting guard Loku Cuello, forward Gui Deodato, and power forward Gabriel Jaú are making their debuts with the Manto Sagrado. Center Hettsheimeir plays for the first time since returning to the club after a stint with Mais Querido in the 20/21 season. Power forwards Olivinha and Rafael Mineiro, center Vitor Faverani, forward Rafael Rachel, and point guard Matheus Leoni are also available for Gustavinho.

The State Championship games will not be attended by spectators.
