One of the biggest stars of Argentina's youth basketball academy, Esteban Caffaro, has signed with Flamengo. The 18-year-old, 2,01'19" winger signed a three-year contract with the "Mais Querido" (Most Wanted) and is focused on competing in the CBB Brazilian Under-27 Championship. Flamengo is already guaranteed a spot in the final stage, which will take place from November 6th to December XNUMXth at Tijuca Tênis Clube (RJ).

With experience in Argentina's youth national teams, Caffaro competed in the 16 U-2019 Copa América in Belém, Pará. The country finished fourth in the competition, averaging 14 points, 5.7 rebounds, and 1.5 assists. The forward is looking to continue his development and is counting on Pride of the Nation to hone his game.

"I decided to sign with Flamengo mainly because I know they can give me the tools I need to continue developing, both athletically and personally," said the newest Flamengo player. "Furthermore, it's a very competitive club, with a high level of players and coaches. This motivates me and helps me continue to improve every day."

Esteban Caffaro will be under the command of coach Rodrigo Leonardo at Mais Querido's youth academy and should also be used in the adult squad, training under the guidance of Gustavo De Conti.

"I'm really excited to work with the Senior team. I want to contribute my bit of sand when I have to play, learn from them, get to know the group, and gain experience. I have high expectations for this season; I think we can do very well on both teams," the winger projected.

In addition to Caffaro, Mais Querido recently signed Matheus Leoni to its youth academy. The point guard played for Gran Canaria in Spain and was repatriated by Flamengo.
