Olivinha highlights the team's stance in the match against Botafogo in the opening of the State Championship

The team is new, but for Olivinha, wearing the Sacred Mantle is normal, and today was just another debut. It was difficult at first, but nothing out of the ordinary was expected from a team that had been almost completely rebuilt. They only scored four points, but the number 16 helped out significantly with four defensive rebounds in his fourteen minutes on the court. But the player approved of the debut as a whole, of a team that started out struggling but managed to assert itself on the court.
"It was a good debut. There's some anxiety, which is normal, it always happens. It's a new group, it's the beginning of the work, and we're getting to know each other. But even with all that, we managed to play a good game and come away with a win, which was the goal to start the season on the right foot," Olivinha highlighted.
Of the starting five, three players weren't in the starting lineup last season. Olivinha started on the bench, where he could observe the players and their posture on the field. The start of the match was more Botafogo-friendly, with the team leading the first 10 minutes. However, in the second quarter, "Mais Querido" took control and led all the way to victory.
"We have a very high-quality team. The first half ended with us two points down, and it must be said that Botafogo made things very difficult. But we kept our heads and focused on the game the whole time, and that was the difference in us leaving here today with the victory," he added.
