Fabián Sahdi is from FlaBasquete!
Argentine point guard signs three-month contract with Pride of the Nation
By Helena Petry - inFlaBasquete has a new reinforcement: Fabián Sahdi has signed a three-month contract with the team. The 32-year-old, 1,88'XNUMX" point guard has played for Unifacisa, São José, and Rio Claro, as well as years of experience playing in his native Argentina.
Playing in the same position as fellow Brazilian Franco Balbi, who is recovering from right knee surgery, Sahdi will remain with the club until the end of 2021. Excited about the opportunity, he spoke about the feeling of being part of the Pride of the Nation.
"I think anyone who says they wouldn't like to play for a team like Flamengo is definitely lying," commented the Argentine. "Expectations are very high. I know I'm joining a team that changed this past season, but has retained the same foundation as last year, so I'll be available to the coaching staff. I'll talk to them and my teammates to be on the same page and give my best in these months. On a personal level, it's a wonderful opportunity to do a good job, and I feel ready to face the challenge alongside them," he concluded.
Fabián Sahdi will be playing in his fourth NBB. In 2018, playing for São José, he finished the competition as second in assists. In 2019, he was invited to participate in the All-Star Game, a competition that brings together the players who stood out in the national tournament. Flamengo has four foreign players on its roster for the season: newly arrived North Americans Brandon Robinson and Dar Tucker, Mexican-American Lucas Martinez, and Argentine Franco Balbi.
